Nutella Stuffed French Toast

The Biochemist was in town again this weekend, and as usual, I wanted to make him something great for breakfast.  Also as usual, he requested something sweet.  Nutella is a scrumptious chocolate hazelnut spread which is good in about a million different recipes, especially those of the breakfast variety.  Anyway, I'd seen a few varieties of Nuttella french toast on the foody blags lately and decided it would be the perfect BF-friendly recipe.  And it was good.

8 slices of bread
4 eggs
1/4 c milk
1 T cinnamon sugar
Powdered sugar, syrup, etc for serving

Sandwich Nutella between 2 slices of bread.

In flat bottom container(at least the size of the bread) blend the eggs, milk, and sugar until smooth. Dip each "sandwich" into the egg mixture until soaked through.

Heat a lightly grease pan over medium heat. Cook sandwiches until golden brown on both sides and transfer to a baking pan. Bake at 350F for 10 minutes to crisp the edges and ensure the toast is baked through.

Top with powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, maple syrup, or even more Nutella.

And it's that simple.

  1. Yummy! Thanks for this recipe. I just became obsessed with Nutella so I went in search of a Nutella French Toast recipe. I like that this doesn't take a bunch of ingredients, but it's still really good.
